HengelaarsVriend Resort is situated 10 km outside Pretoria on the banks of the Roodeplaat dam. The resort was founded in 1973 (42 years ago) by David & Martha Kemp. The tranquil setting along the waterfront became familiar to families leisurely spending time together. The call of the Kingfisher and majestic Fish Eagle completes the setting.

Our frequent visiting friends consist of, Caravan campers, Log cabin guests, Day visitors and Fishermen camping under the majestic Willow trees allowing for plenty of shade along the waterfront. All guests can enjoy the swimming pools and deck area. We have 2-8 sleeper wooden cabins beside the water, which are fully equipped for self catering. Still the theme of family leisure within a clean and safe environment paves the way for thousands of visitors every year.

Recent developments include fully furnished guest houses, where the weary traveler and inquisitive explorer both are welcomed and invited to enjoy typical South African hospitality. The new wooden deck built into the water will be our long awaited Restaurant and meeting place. The conference facilities are now fully functional. Quality and service awaits the visitor.

This resort is situated within the greater Dinokeng Nature reserve. Located next to the thriving Pretoria cosmopolitan, only 25 kilometers away from the City Centre Of Tshwane, the Roodeplaat Nature Conservation being our immediate neighbors.
